The photographic work of Quintin Vale (b. 1998, United States) revolves around the interior experience of solitude, uncertainty, and presence, attending to the quiet and ambiguous spaces through which our relationship to ourselves and the world is formed. His practice considers what happens when the structures we use to orient ourselves become unstable, and what might emerge through sustained attention to that instability.

Working across digital and analogue photography, Vale approaches the photographic image as both representation and physical object. Increasingly concerned with material and process, he uses printing, paper, and experimentation as extensions of the image itself.
