Anomie began with Émile Durkheim’s idea of social normlessness, the breakdown or weakening of established values and structures that can leave the individual without a clear sense of belonging or direction. The series takes this idea as a point of departure for a more personal exploration of isolation and estrangement. Made during a period in which I felt increasingly disconnected from the world around me, the photographs became a way of navigating that distance, searching for moments of meaning, beauty, and connection within an otherwise uncertain landscape.
